Toyota Mirai

Toyota's First Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle

UX Director, Droga5

For the Mirai, there was a unique and remarkable design challenge: help consumers learn about and trust the first mass produced hydrogen fuel cell car, the Mirai. As an automobile, it runs literally on hydrogen, outputting water that's drinkable. It's main design challenge was infrastructure, as it requires its own stations. So we built a map, where users could show interest in the car, and by doing so, we helped lay out the road map for where the stations are to be built, coast to coast and globally. This project and campaign included events, pop-ups, and of course 360 campaigns featuring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd from back to the future.
