Album Cover and Installation for Dublab

Installation and Album Release at Alcova, Design Miami, 2023
A design project benefiting pioneering non-profit internet radio station dublab debuts Space Chairs assembled from vinyl record album packaging at Alcova during Art Basel Miami Beach / Design Miami 2023. The exhibition entitled decades ( in space ) commemorates two decades of dublab’s space-making cultivation of global experimentation through community-generated radio.
For the quadrophonic decades ( in space) record, featuring artists such as Sudan Archives, Laraaji, Susanne Ciani and others, we collaborated to create a record cover we called "making space". The limited edition release included a flatpack cardboard record cover that folded into a cardboard chair, each printed with a unique generated galaxy. Inside, a wall sized a poster composed of galaxies, a space blanket, a jacket sleeve with morei featuring the only bird to have flown in space, and instructions on how to make space using the cover. The locked groove of the record features an analogue video, decoded and projected in the space.
Finally, in addition, an edition of 1, hand-made, playable album was created by the artist Dyan Jong, which included a sliced meteor embedded in its clear vinyl.
